CCAYR Mid-Month Inspiration Time Again!

Howdy friends!  It's the middle of the month again (JUNE!!!), and that means it's time for the CCAYR Christmas Belles to give you some inspiration for this month's House/Cottage theme.  Here is mine:

I decided I wanted to make this birdhouse card again, just like the one posted here.  No cardinal this time...I am having an issue with my Silhouette software not recognizing my machine on the new desktop, so I had to dig out this Studio G bird stamp.  Stamped it in Fired Brick Distress Oxide ink, and punched out a small heart.  Leandra (my DD), said that I should stamp the word "home" in the bird house opening and place the heart underneath it to convey the message that "home is where the heart is."  Pretty clever of her, I think!  Used the Martha Stewart branch punch to make something for the bird to rest on outside the house.  The woodgrain embossing folder is from Darice.  Added Snow-Tex to the roof of the birdhouse, and some holly leaves and berries for some holiday d├ęcor above the opening.

June 2017 CHNC Extra DT time!!

Howdy blogger friends!  I'm here this evening to share with you some CHNC Extra DT inspiration!

As per our challenge guidelines, we are to use a Bugaboo image, and this cutie-pie is called Ava Christmas - mistletoe fairy.    As well as using a Bugaboo image, I also used the current Bugaboo sketch #510:

I realize now that I neglected the ribbon-looking element at the top of the sketch, but hopefully it'll still be acceptable!  The image and designer paper were just sitting on my desk , so I pulled the other elements together to complete the sketch.  I used a combination of alcohol markers to color my image, and afterwards, I added some Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen to all the green parts.  The sentiment comes from the Lawn Fawn "Deck The Halls" set, and was stamped with my new Fired Brick Distress Oxide ink pad!  Unfortunately, that is the only time I have had to even use one of these pads, but hopefully that will soon change!

As this post will be scheduled, you may be reading this as my older daughter, Laurena, is graduating from high school!  I can NOT believe that the time has come for this to happen already.  I always knew this day would come, but I never imagined it would happen so fast!  Next year around this time, my younger daughter will also graduate high school...then what will I do??!!  I'll be fine...I think.

Anyhow, I will add this to some challenges once the post is live and as time allows.  For now, it's time to hit the hay!  4am comes early around these parts!  Don't forget to join us with your creations, for you could be the randomly picked winner!  Thanks for stopping by!

CCAYR Mid Month Inspiration

Howdy folks!  I'm glad you could join me this evening for another Christmas card for 2017.  This is the card I created for the May Christmas Cards All Year Round "Precipitation" theme:

Of course, I went with some snow, and this adorable Bugaboo Eggbert image.  I chose this gorgeous piece of designer paper from my stash that I have been hoarding...unfortunately, the name of this paper is behind the piece I used on the card, and I didn't write it down, so I can't tell you what it is! :(  I wanted to make this a shaker, but I also didn't want to cover up any of that yummy paper, so I made it a see-thru shaker pocket, using my Fuse tool for the first time.  The card base, the layer beneath the dp, and the shaker circle frame come from Craft Smith 12x12 paper pads in Turquoise and Ocean Blues.  The sentiment comes from the Snow Cool Lawn Fawn set, and is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.  I made a custom mix of sequins from some blues and greens in my stash that I thought matched the papers I used.  Crystal Stickles was added to the snowballs and snowflakes on the image, and Eggbert was colored with a combination of Spectrum Noir and Prismacolor markers.

Challenges:

Craftyhazelnut's Christmas #333:  ATG or "include a tree or trees"
Mix It Up #1:  ATG or optional "embossing" twist
Happy Little Stampers May:  ATG with Dies
Simon Says Wednesday:   A Bit of Sparkle
12 Months of Christmas Link Up #29:  ATG or optional "cute" theme
The Merry Christmas Challenge May:  ATG or optional "gingerbread" theme
Sparkles Christmas:  Snowflakes

Please stop by the CCAYR blog to check out the Gingerbread Gals' and Christmas Belles' creations, and also to see what others have added to the challenge.  Don't forget to join us with your "precipitation" entries as well!

A couple days late, but here is some CHNC Extra DT inspiration for you!

Hello, fellow bloggers!  It seems I have been gone from here for a long time.  Honestly, I didn't spend a whole lot of time in my craft room (where the desktop computer is) in the month of April, so that's why my CHNC Extra DT post is late.  My apologies!  Here is what you came to see:

This purple Christmas card uses the Snowman Jingle Bell image from Bugaboo.  I would link to it, but I can't find it in the store.  I had it colored up, sitting on my desk, so I used it for my challenge card.  I needed some sketch inspiration, so I headed over to the Catch The Bug blog and found their current Stella Says Sketch challenge:

I love having a sketch to go by, as it takes some of the thinking out of it for me!  LOL  I'm going to check out some other challenges to link this card to, but please make sure you check out the CHNC Extra blog, and make a few cards to add!  You'll be that much closer to having lots of cards for your Christmas card stash!  Also, check out my fellow teamies' creations and leave them some blog love, as they are no less than stellar!  :)

Challenges:

Catch The Bug:  Stella Says Sketch #509
Sweet Stampin' Christmas:  April Anything Christmas
12 Months of Christmas Link Up #29:  ATG or optional "Cute Christmas" theme
Christmas Card Challenges #11:  ATG or optional color challenge
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge #331:  ATG or optional "add stars" theme
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper:  ATG with patterned paper
Outlawz Festive Fridays:  Anything Christmas
Di's Digi Designs:  Use something digital
Crafting by Designs:  Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas??

Well, I guess that's enough...this has taken me forever to do, since I have changed desktops and lost all my favorites!  I found some new ones though!  :0

Thanks for stopping by today.  Take it easy and God Bless!

CCAYR Christmas Belles DT Inspiration

Just popping in tonight with a quick share for the Christmas Cards All Year Round challenge blog:

This month's theme was "flowers," so what better than poinsettias?  I was originally going to use one of my die cuts for this card, but when searching through my papers for something to go with it, I found this great paper with these stunning glittered poinsettias.  I just had to cut some out!  The paper I used on the bottom was from the same Recollections "Believe" pad.  The leaves on this paper were black, so I cut 2 of those out as well, and then used this DYMO label maker sentiment that has been laying on my desk for some time.  Added a piece of ric rac to emphasize the border, and this one was done.

Challenges:
12 Months of Christmas Link Up #28:  ATG or optional "vintage" theme
Sweet Stampin' Christmas:  ATG Christmas
Christmas Card Challenges #10:  ATG or optional photo challenge
CHNC #329:  ATG or optional "house or building" theme

That's all from me for today.  Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to enter the challenge over at CCAYR!  God Bless!

CHNC Extra DT Inspiration...April 1, 2017

The beginning of the 4th month already?!  Time is flying by...yesterday I turned 46.  WTH!  I can't be on the downhill ride toward 50!  I am waaaay too immature to be this old...lol!  Anyhow, I got a lot of birthday wishes, at work, and on FB; and some nice gifts from friends and family.  Overall, it was a good day!  But onto the reason we are here...a Christmas card!  :)

AAAAAND, it being the beginning of a new month, that means you can find this card, and the cards made by my talented fellow DT members, over at the CHNC Extra challenge blog!  For my card, I used the retired Eggbert Winter image from Bugaboo, and I followed the current sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches:

The designer paper is from the Winter Whimsy 6x6 pad from "love Nicole", and all colored card stock is from Recollections.  Let's find some other challenges to add this to, shall we?

Challenges:

12 Months of Christmas Link Up #28:  ATG or optional "Ghosts of Christmas Past (vintage)" theme
Christmas Card challenges #9:  ATG or optional "Mittens" theme
CHNC #327:  ATG Christmas or optional "Funny" theme
Crimbo Crackers #129:  Snowflakes
Cutie Pie #109:  Dies and Digis
CHN Patterned Paper:  ATG using patterned paper
Di's Digi Designs:  Add some texture (Swiss Dots embossing folder on blue strip)

Well, that's it.  Man, it feels like it took me all day to complete this post, because it did!  That's what happens when life gets in the way, I guess.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Don't forget to check out the DT creations, and join in the challenge yourself!  God Bless!  :)

How about some mid-month Christmas inspiration with CHNC Extra?

That's right, you read the title correctly.  I have made something to share for some mid-month inspiration at CHNC Extra.  I hardly EVER get anything done for that, as Hazel makes it optional, but this time, I thought I would be a little different and join in.

AND, to throw you off some more, I made not one but FOUR cards...HA HA!  So the story is, I had these journaling cards already cut out on my desk for a time when I wanted to create something while lacking some mojo.  That time had come.  So I grabbed these up, went back to the paper pad they came from to search out coordinating papers, and viola!  A little assembly line production procedures, and *BOOM*, 4 more Christmas cards done for the stash.  Incidentally, I lost the cover of the paper pad, but I'm pretty sure it's from MME.  Here are some individual card pics:

On the top card, I did cover the smaller sentiment area with a Spellbinders Label die and a Momenta sentiment.  All 4 journaling cards are backed by a kraft Spellbinders scalloped rectangle mat, and all card bases are kraft as well.  I used fun foam to add dimension behind the journaling panels.  *CAS love.*

Challenges:

12 Months of Christmas Link Up #27:  ATG, or optional Christmas Angels theme
Sparkles Christmas #74:  Use silver or gold (top card sentiment is embossed in gold)
Christmas Card Challenges #8:  ATG or optional photo inspiration
CHNC #324:  ATG or optional Santa theme
Jingle Belles:  The Holly and the Ivy...aka Christmas foliage (see card #2)
Create and Inspire #60:  ATG or optional create and Easter gift
Cards in Envy:  Keep it Simple

Well, I suppose that's all for now.  I should probably get myself to bed...we had a snow day today, so I stayed up late last night watching Netflix.  Headed back to work tomorrow!  God Bless the rest of your week!

CHNC Extra March DT 2017 Post

It's Tuesday evening bloggers, how are you so far this week?  Things here are going about the same.  OT is still available at work, and I work it most days.  Today was the day for us to get our taxes done, so no OT today.  I'm trying to work as much as I can while it is still available.  But now onto my CHNC Extra DT Christmas card:

Poppi Xmas Stocking from Bugaboo is front and center on my card for this month, along with a lot of red!  The dp comes from an 8.5x11 paper set called Christmas from Recollections.  I used Spellbinders circle dies to cut and layer Poppi .  Colored with Spectrum Noir and Prismacolor markers.  Star Dust Stickles added to the white parts of the hat and stocking.

Challenges:

Christmas Card Challenges #7:  ATG or optional color challenge
CHNC #322:  ATG or optional recycle/upcycle theme
Merry Monday #237:  Shimmer and Sparkle
Digi Design:  Die Cuts and/or Punches
HIMCR #290:  Any Holiday

That's all I could find to fit my card into.  Don't forget to check out my teamies' creations, and join in the challenge yourselves!  Have a great rest of the week, and God Bless!

Gettin' Sketchy with Paper Play Sketches

Hello and Happy Friday, bloggers!  The weather here in PA today is GLORIOUS!  I don't know if the temps broke any records, but I'm sure we all have a bad case of Spring Fever right about now!  LOL!

In direct juxtaposition to today's weather, I have another Christmas card to share with you:

This one was inspired by the current Paper Play Sketches sketch:

I don't know what it is about these monochromatic cards I've been making lately, but this is another one for the stash!  I used my brand-spankin' new MFT Polar Bear Pals set for the ADORABLE bear.  Oh how I love this set! EEEEEEEEEE! Every card I saw on the internet made with this set just made me want it more!  I finally found an online store that had it in stock, so I snagged it up!  :)  The designer paper comes from the 12x12 Bright and Jolly pad from Recollections.  The colored card stock comes from the 12x12 Turquoise pad from Craft Smith.  I got a BUNCH of these paper pads at Michael's the last time we went, because they were 75% off.  Can't pass up a deal that good, and it's textured card stock to boot!  I didn't really have much of that before, so now I most certainly do...and in a rainbow of colors!

Along with Paper Play Sketches, I would also like to join in these challenges:

12 Months of Christmas Link Up #26:  ATG or optional "Holiday Humor" theme
ABC Christmas:  "C" for Creatures and/or "D" for Dimension
Winter Wonderland:  ATG, a tribute to the challenge creator, Eileen, who suddenly passed away in January
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper:  ATG with patterned paper
Hiding in my Craft Room #289:  Embossing (sentiment is heat embossed)
Die Cuttin' Divas #305:  Animals (image cut with my Cameo)
Sweet Stampers #4:  Sentiment
Love to Craft #7:  ATG (2nd entry)

Well, I guess that's it!  Hubby and I are headed out for some Chinese, so I'm gonna get this post linked up...Thanks for stopping by today, and God Bless!

CCAYR Mid-month Inspiration Post--Use Red and/or Pink and a heart

Wednesday evening greetings, blog readers!  We're headed down the slope to the weekend--YAY!  Friday can't get here fast enough for me!  The hubby and I are going out to dinner Friday evening, and after that...50 Shades Darker!  WOOHOO!  I read the books, and we saw the first movie, so I am READY to see the next installment on the big screen.  Jamie Dornan is easy on the eyes, I must say!

Anyhow...moving on to the reason for this post...another Christmas card for 2017!!!  Oh, and also it's my DT make for CCAYR.  ;)

In deciding what to make for this challenge, I rummaged thru my container of wood Christmas stamps, and found this forgotten gem!  I just love Fluffles!  The situations he ends up in...too funny!  I gave him some sparkle with Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen for his festive little sweater, the red scalloped layer and both hearts.  The hearts are also coated with Glossy Accents.  The pink layer was embossed with the Snowflake Trim folder by Darice.  Simple and sweet little Christmas card, I'd say!

Challenges:

12 Months of Christmas Link Up #26:  ATG or optional "Holiday Humor" theme
ABC Christmas:  "C" for Creatures, "D" for Dimension (one or both choices)
Christmas at Sweet Stampin':  ATG Christmas (2nd entry)
Snowflake's Promise #37:  ATG or optional "Valentine's/Love" theme
CHNC #320:  ATG or optional "cute" theme ( I think this qualifies as cute!)

Crafting from the Heart #146:  ATG (2nd entry)

Thanks for stopping by to see me!  I hope you enjoy the rest of your week, and the impending weekend.

God Bless!

Following a sketch again...

Hello, and happy Sunday evening!  I'm here really quickly to share a card I just finished to enter into the gallery at Paper Play Sketches:

Here is their current sketch:

This card is made just using the same piece of paper, except for the printed image panel.  The dual-sided designer paper came from the Love Nicole 12x12 "Let It Snow" paper pad.  I was so glad the paper had a solid color on the other side, because I couldn't find a color in my stash to match!  :)
